Friday First Look – Goodguys 10th Spring Nationals

Spring is blossoming in the Valley of the Sun and rodders from the region are celebrating by gathering in Scottsdale for the Goodguys 10th Spring Nationals! We had a fantastic Friday here at Westworld of Scottsdale, with thousands of hot rods, cool customs, mighty muscle cars, and fine classics showing up for the start of what promises to be an outstanding weekend.

The good times got an early start on Thursday, with a Hot Rod Cruise that took us to Phoenix Hot Rod Company, Gateway Classic Cars, American Legends, and The Rod Shop, with a final stop and kickoff party at Baer Brakes. It was a great way to get rodders primed and ready for a Goodguys-style hot rod weekend.

A steady stream of cars and trucks rolled through the Westworld gates all day, filling the lower polo field and upper show areas with cool cars and trucks of all styles and years. The vendors were set up and ready to serve eager enthusiasts and the swap meet was packed with both sellers and buyers looking for bargains.

AutoCrossers attacked the course all day long, accelerating around corners and weaving around cones in quest for the fastest time possible. They’re all trying to find their grove as they strive to qualify for Saturday’s Spring Shootout. It’s sure to be an all-out battle on the blacktop when the top 16 vehicles duke it out tomorrow!

The full dose of Friday fun also included a roaring Nitro Thunderfest exhibition, plenty of great food options, kids fun, plus a model and pedal car show. All this will continue tomorrow, plus more attractions like live music and a Burnout Competition. With the weather forecast looking picture perfect, it’s shaping up to be an incredible weekend, so fire up your ride and cruise on out to Westworld of Scottsdale to join the fun!
