Friday First Look! 33rd West Coast Nationals presented by BASF

Goodguys’ hometown of Pleasanton, California is the place to be this weekend as we kick off the 33rd West Coast Nationals presented by BASF! We’ve long considered this event the Crown Jewel in our national lineup and it’s shaping up to be another spectacular showing with sunny skies, great cars, and the good times that Goodguys is known for.

We’ve been building up momentum for several days as Gary Meadors Memorial Hot Rod Week saw caravans of cars and trucks embarking every day for tours of cool shops, collections, and other automotive sights in the Bay Area. We finished the week off with a fun poker run on Thursday, and then rolled right into the first day of the West Coast Nationals this morning at the Alameda County Fairgrounds.

It’s easy to see why this is a favorite event for West Coast rodders. The facility is fantastic, with plenty of grass, trees, and cruising lanes. Summer is at its peak, so the temperatures are warm and the sun is bright. And the industry’s top builders and craftsmen have long flocked here to hang out and show off their latest creations.

Among those creations are some prime candidates for the BASF America’s Most Beautiful Street Rod honor, one of our Top 12 of the season. We’ll be selecting five finalists on Saturday and have a special Saturday afternoon ceremony to crown the winner. Stay tuned to see who takes home this prestigious prize!

There’s plenty more good stuff in store for the weekend, including AutoCross action that will culminate in Saturday’s West Coast Shootout presented by FiTech, a huge swap meet, Nitro Thunderfest sound-offs, a Burnout Competition, several buildings of indoor displays, scores of vendors, and much more! Come join us for the fun if you can, or stay tuned in to Goodguys digital media and catch the action online!
