See it Here First! Goodguys 2020 Event Schedule
The Goodguys Rod & Custom Association’s 2020 event schedule is bringing 18 full-throttle automotive events to car and truck enthusiasts across the country next year! The high-octane lineup includes one all-new event coming to the western U.S. – the Goodguys 1st Salt Lake Nationals, scheduled for May 15-17 at Utah State Fair Park in Salt Lake City. It will be the first time Goodguys has visited the scenic venue and anticipation is high for a power-packed weekend in the Salt Lake City region!
Kicking off the 2020 season will be a game-changing event – in addition to over 2,000 hot rods, customs, muscle cars, and classics, the Goodguys 10th LMC Truck Spring Lone Star Nationals, March 13-15 at Texas Motor Speedway will welcome everyone in the truck family. Texas is truck country and this event pulls out all the stops for truck enthusiasts. The Cup Garage at TMS will host a trucks-only shopping experience with companies catering to trucks, plus there will be a Trick Truck Corral presented by LMC Truck, a trucks-only AutoCross with Shootout events on Friday and Saturday, a trucks-only hour track cruise on Saturday…and the list goes on.
Griot’s Garage, the Tacoma, Washington-based creator of car care products for the perfectionists, takes on the presenting sponsor role for the Goodguys events in Raleigh, North Carolina and Loveland, Colorado, in addition to presenting the 33rd Pacific Northwest Nationals in Puyallup, Washington. In addition, Griot’s Garage will continue their support of the 2020 Griot’s Garage Muscle Machine of the Year.
Another noteworthy schedule change on the Goodguys 2020 event schedule includes a new date for the 15th Nashville Nationals, which will move to June 12-14 at Nissan Stadium along the banks of the Cumberland River. This event, previously held in May, will continue to feature the popular Tanks, Inc. Hot Rod of the Year competition.
The remaining 2020 events are scheduled for their traditional weekends, bringing together thousands of candy-colored hot rods, ground-pounding muscle cars, chrome-plated customs, stylish classics, and tricked-out trucks through 1987 vintage. The 1987-and-older cutoff will now extend to the 34th West Coast Nationals presented by BASF, which had previously been open to 1972-and-older vehicles.
Highlighting the 2020 schedule is the Goodguys 29th Speedway Motors Heartland Nationals in Des Moines, Iowa falling on 4th of July weekend – celebrating our nation’s independence with an epic car show in America’s Heartland – and the Goodguys 23rd PPG Nationals July 10-12 at the Ohio Expo Center in Columbus celebrating Collector Car Appreciation Day on Sunday July, 12th.
The Goodguys AutoCross series continues to accelerate in participation and popularity. AutoCross competition will be staged at 16 of the 18 events and will continue the format of hosting two eight-car shootouts at each event. The AutoCross season races to a climactic close November 20-22 at the Goodguys 23rd Speedway Motors Southwest Nationals presented by Barrett-Jackson. At Scottsdale, the Duel in the Desert will feature the season’s fastest 32 cars in a shootout to determine the Goodguys 2020 FAST AutoCrosser of the Year.
The Goodguys Top 12 awards and the Builder’s Choice awards program return bigger and better than ever in 2020 with the ultimate highlight of gathering all 12 at the season finale in Scottsdale.
