Attending Holley LS Fest East in Bowling Green, KY, you’ll experience nothing short of speed, power, and plenty of burning rubber. This year’s show was the 7th annual and featured largest attendance yet, which should be no surprise considering the increased popularity of the GM LS platform.

Holley LS Fest East is held at the picturesque Beech Bend Raceway Park. With an active amusement park and ample camping, it’s the perfect location for every automotive enthusiast’s needs and wants. There were specialty competitions around every corner, a swap meet, vendors, and some pretty prestigious awards too.

Everything goes at LS Fest, from your classic hot rods, muscle cars, race cars, rat rods, trucks – if it’s got an LS, you’re in for a good time. LS swapped imports and odd rods also made the scene.

Drag racing competition goes on from sun up to sun down, so if you think you’ve got what it takes to go head to head with some of the fastest cars, then register your wheels and test it out! There are classes for late models, Chevrolet stock, Drag Radial, Real Street and many more. You can head over to their website and find out the details on each class. Whether you are participating or watching it’s a smoky, tire-screechin’ good time!

Autocross competition is staged in various categories allowing both novices and pro’s a crack at the track. The circle track at Beech Bend challenges a driver’s skills big time with tight turns and wide open full throttle stretches.

Another challenge that left fans screaming for more was the 3S Challenge – Speed, Stop, and Steering. Your driving skills are truly put to the test on this one. The course features a 180-degree turn around, slalom, and a stop box. If at any point a cone is touched it is an immediate DNF – so no pressure LOL!

The wide open drifting sessions were not only cool to watch, the sound coming from these LS-swapped tuner cars was pure thunder. It was like automotive ballet.

Bystanders without cars or just casual spectators got to participate in Holley LS Fest East as well. Case in point was the Car Craft Magazine Bolt-on Challenge. If you’re a car guy or gal you’ll love this event. Two teams compete to disassemble a 6.0 liter junkyard engine and reassemble with bolt-on parts from Holley, Air Flow Research, Brian Tooley Racing, and others.

It was intense, fast-paced competition. The first team that gets the engine to idle for 30 seconds takes all. And that included taking the engine home – not a bad prize, right?

This three day weekend celebration of all things LS will keep you on your toes and entertained the entire time. Loaded with everything an automotive enthusiast loves, it is a great event for friends and family to enjoy.
