Make the Scene in 2019! A Sneak Peek at the Upcoming Goodguys Event Season
Things are quiet and at idle right now. Old man winter has settled in leaving us with visions of sunnier days and hi-octane fun. While you guys and gals are busy in your garages tuning and servicing your hot rods, we are locked and loaded getting all of the details ironed out for our 2019 Goodguys event season.
We have an exciting year on tap! All of your favorite events, fun promotions, and new event activities, along with a healthy dose of road tours, promise to provide miles of smiles in the new year! Make sure you make the scene in 2019!
Electrifying Events!
Eighteen Goodguys events will bring high-energy entertainment to hot rodders across America this year, including the all-new Goodguys Grundy Insurance Great American Nationals, August 9-11 at the York Expo Center in York, Pennsylvania. It will be the first time Goodguys has visited the historic venue and anticipation is high for a power-packed weekend. York has historical significance to Goodguys as it was our late founder Gary Meadors who originally brought the Nats East together. He would be happy to hear of our return!
Gone is the two-day Mother’s Day weekend format for our Nashville Nationals. Instead, the 14th Nashville Nationals moves to May 3-5 and returns to its three-day format at Nissan Stadium, complete with the crowning of the Goodguys 2019 Tanks Inc. Hot Rod of the Year.
All other 2019 Goodguys events are scheduled for their traditional weekends welcoming thousands of colorful hot rods, muscle cars, customs, classics and tricked out trucks through 1987 vintage. Highlighting the schedule will be the Goodguys 22nd PPG Nationals July 12-14 at the Ohio Expo Center in Columbus.

BIG NEWS! Exciting Youth Movement!
The all-new Goodguys 2019 YoungGuys program presented by Goolsby Customs is designed to celebrate and honor hot rodders 25 years and under. If you’re a young guy or gal, this is your time to shine!
Here is what the 2019 YoungGuys program looks like – At each 2019 Goodguys event, the top two YoungGuy cars or trucks will be selected out of the special parking area. Pictures of both vehicles will be posted for a social media vote-off determining each event winner. At year’s end, the top vehicle of the entire year will be awarded as National Champion. Goodguys and Goolsby Customs will then bring the winning vehicle to the 2019 SEMA Show where the vehicle will be displayed inside our Goodguys booth on Hot Rod Alley! Airfare, hotel, and vehicle shipping will all be paid for courtesy of Goodguys.
50th Anniversary Camaro Exhibit:
History’s most revered muscle car, the 1969 Chevrolet Camaro, will be celebrated in spectacular fashion at the Goodguys 22nd PPG Nationals, July 12-14 in Columbus, Ohio. Sixty nine of history’s most significant ’69 Camaros will be showcased in a special Golden Anniversary exhibit inside the Ohio Expo Center’s Kasich Hall. Indoor Car Shows:
Indoor events will be held at 11 events for those who prefer to display their cars and trucks under the bright lights out of the elements. All three Pleasanton Get-Togethers, Del Mar, Raleigh, Columbus, Puyallup, Spokane, York, and Lexington will feature indoor car shows.
Goodguys AutoCross:
AutoCross action will be staged at 16 of the 18 events with special 16-car shootouts at most of those events. The season comes to a climactic close November 15-17 in Scottsdale at the season-ending Goodguys 22nd Speedway Motors Southwest Nationals. The Duel in the Desert will feature the season’s fastest 32 cars in a shootout to determine the Goodguys 2019 FAST AutoCrosser of the Year.
Burn ’em and Churn ’em:
We know you’re all stoked the Goodguys Burnout Contests will return in 2019. The tire-frying mayhem will be featured at the majority of this year’s events. After a basic tech inspection, you will be checked in to roast the rubber. Here’s a hint: only bring a car with skinny back tires!
Vendors, Swappers and More:
There will be a swap meet and vendor midway at every Goodguys event this season. We will also have a Cars 4 Sale Corral at all events. Whether you’re buyin’ or sellin’ – we have a spot for you and your wares.
Celebrating the Best:
Our Goodguys awards program is overflowing with honors. From our signature Top 12 awards, to the national Builder’s Choice selections, to the specialty awards like the PPG Dream Car, Goodguys Gazette Pick, Fuel Curve Pick, and more. Each 2019 event will feature the country’s top new builds in competition!
Road Tours!
Hall of Fame Road Tour(s):
You read that right! Two tours departing the same day in different parts of the country will be on tap for the annual Hall of Fame Road Tour this fall. One tour leg will depart from Detroit, Michigan, while the western leg will depart from our Goodguys offices in Pleasanton, California. There is room for 100 cars and trucks total – 50 cars per tour. Signups will begin in February. Once the 100 slots are filled, registration will close. Jamie Sa will be coordinating the tour rosters. Signup begins the latter half of February.
