Paradise Road Show – Motorcycles, Babes and Muscle Cars in Palm Springs
The Paradise Road Show enveloped the Ace Hotel & Swim Club in Palm Springs for the second consecutive year and featured the best pre-70s classics the Southwest has to offer.
The cool event with a retro vibe is curated by the very talented and amazingly wonderful Adri Law, whose passion for the success of this show shines through with her willingness to help those attending or entering the show.
The event is co- curated with Chase Stopnik of vintage fashion store HWY of Echo Park along with Lana Macnaughton. They do an amazing job with the look, feel and vibe of this unique gathering.
With summer’s scorching temperatures nowhere in sight it was an exceptional weekend to be in the mid-century modern capital of California for a whole hearted motorcycle and car show unlike any other.
With the venue being the Ace hotel its expansive yet intimate grounds are a perfect setting. Pre 70s cars and trucks frame the venue entrance while motorcycles line the paths throughout the hotel grounds.
Once you hit the pool and one of the bar areas you come upon boutiqe shopping by small mom and pop vendors with all things vintage or completely unique. So many hand made goods by creative people! There was even a record store set up for all your vinyl needs.
Adding even more vintage flair was a good old fashioned pie eating contest with a DJ already in place playing music to set the day’s mood and vibe.
Once we walked further into and outside the Ace grounds the rest of the classic cars and trucks were parked joining even more vendors. For two city blocks you have some of the most interesting and pristine rods, customs, and muscle cars each seemingly better than the next. There was such a wide variety, every taste was satisfied with the wide array of machines on display.
The curator’s goals of taking this show back to the roots of rodding and cycling was a complete success from all aspects. While nothing can be exactly as it was, this is definitely the closest we have ever come to entering a time capsule. It was a blast hanging with rodding and cycling’s elite as well as principle players, and world renowned photographers all dressed in retro threads!
