Focus ahead! Winter might have you stuck inside right now, but springtime is just around the corner and with it comes another picture-perfect Goodguys 2020 event season. We’ve mapped out a great year and are dialing in the details to bring you America’s Favorite Car Shows!
We’ve got a full spectrum of events in store across the country this year, each filled with activities and features that will get your engines running and get you in the mood for cruisin’ that fine ride of yours. So, buckle up and take a look at what 2020 has in store!
MAIN EVENTS
MAIN EVENTSGoodguys will bring excitement to all corners of the country in 2020 with 18 electrifying events for car and truck enthusiasts! The supercharged lineup includes one all-new event coming to the American West – the Goodguys 1st RaceDeck Salt Lake Nationals, scheduled for May 15-17 at Utah State Fairpark in Salt Lake City. It will be the first time Goodguys has visited the scenic venue and anticipation is high for a power-packed weekend in the Salt Lake City region!
Another noteworthy schedule change is a new date for the 15th Nashville Nationals presented by BASF, which will move to June 12-14 at Nissan Stadium along the banks of the Cumberland River. This event will continue to feature the popular Hot Rod of the Year competition and plenty of Southern fun.
We’re also excited to welcome LMC Truck as title sponsor for the 10th Spring Lone Star Nationals March 13-15 in Fort Worth, Texas. We all know Texas is truck country, so LMC Truck is a great fit and will be helping us with some fun truck-focused features at this season-opening event.
The remaining Goodguys 2020 events are scheduled for their traditional weekends, bringing together thousands of candy-colored hot rods, ground-pounding muscle cars, chrome-plated customs, stylish classics, and tricked-out trucks through 1987 vintage. The 1987-and-older cutoff now extends to the 34th West Coast Nationals presented by BASF, which had previously been open to 1972-and-older vehicles. Highlighting the 2020 schedule is the Goodguys 29th Speedway Motors Heartland Nationals on 4th of July weekend – celebrating our nation’s independence with an epic car show in America’s Heartland – and the Goodguys 23rd PPG Nationals July 10-12 at the Ohio Expo Center in Columbus.
FULL-THROTTLE FUN!
FULL-THROTTLE FUN!The Goodguys AutoCross series continues to accelerate and will be carving corners at 16 events this year. Each AutoCross event will culminate in two eight-car shootouts, split between a PRO-X and PRO shootout with the top four quickest drivers from each class filling the field, and a Street Machine, Truck and Hot Rod shootout with the top four Street Machines and the quickest two Trucks and Hot Rods duking it out.
The dual-shootout format gives drivers in all classes an opportunity to shine. As always, the AutoCross season will race to a climactic close with the 32-car Duel in the Desert November 20-22 at the Goodguys 23rd Speedway Motors Southwest Nationals and the crowning of the Goodguys 2020 FAST AutoCrosser of the Year.
TOP HONORS
TOP HONORSThe Goodguys awards program recognizes great rides at every event, highlighted by the Top 10 Builder’s Choice awards selected by the country’s top craftsmen. The Goodguys Top 12 “Of the Year” awards recognize the best of the best in 12 distinct categories and will culminate with a gathering of all 12 showcased at the season finale in Scottsdale. Dozens of other picks and awards are also bestowed at each event.
YOUNG GUYS
Celebrating young enthusiasts is the goal of the Goodguys YoungGuys program presented by Goolsby Customs. It recognizes rodders 25 years and under and identifies two top rides from the special YoungGuys parking area at each event. Photos of both vehicles are posted for a social media vote-off to determine an event winner. At year’s end, all YoungGuys event winners will be evaluated and a National Champion will be invited to the 2020 SEMA Show where the vehicle will be displayed inside our Goodguys booth on Hot Rod Alley!
MAKE SOME NOISE!
And some smoke! Popular Burnout Contests and Nitro Thunderfest exhibitions will return to most Goodguys 2020 events again, enhancing the sensory experience for participants and spectators alike. Want to join in on the tire-frying fun? Just listen for signup information at any event and, after a basic tech inspection, you can roast some rubber, too!
INSIDE JOB
Come on inside for special indoor car displays held at nine events for those who prefer to show their cars and trucks out of the elements. All three Pleasanton Get-Togethers, Del Mar, Raleigh, Columbus, Puyallup, Spokane, and York will feature indoor car shows.

HIT THE ROAD!
HIT THE ROAD!Enjoy your rod or custom out on the road where it belongs on one of two Hall of Fame Road Tours taking place in late September. Both tours will depart from Salt Lake City, taking different scenic routes to the 28th Summit Racing Lone Star Nationals in Texas. Beyond the Hall of Fame Road Tour, we have at least two other traditional caravans to events: Destination Del Mar, which departs April 1 from Goodguys headquarters in Pleasanton; and the Cruise to Columbus, which leaves Des Moines, Iowa on July 6.
