On the last Saturday of every month during the warmer months, Speedway Motors Cars N’ Coffee takes over Speedway’s sprawling campus in Lincoln, Nebraska. A huge and colorful event, it’s open to anyone with a specialty vehicle.

Rolling into the second year, this year’s opener was a smash hit. It’s obvious the Speedway Motors Cars N’ Coffee generates a full tank of excitement for Lincoln’s car community. It was a hot, sun-soaked morning as locals streamed in behind the wheel of their hopped up rides. The influx of color and chrome seemed to go on for forever.

This year’s opener set a record too with 343-cars. There’s no question people are starting to catch on. It’s a simple show offered to fellow enthusiasts prepared to show off their latest projects, talk shop, and get a jump start to their Saturday with free coffee and donuts.

And how could you resist? It’s all your basic food groups! The Rebels Auto Club of Lincoln helped hand out donuts and serve coffee with jovial smiles. Each following month this year, Speedway will team up with other local car clubs to help host the event.

The car show is held from 8am to noon, but to top it off, show attendees are invited to visit the renowned Museum of American Speed – a spectacular showcase of motor racing and hot rod history. Doors were opened to show attendees with free admission. Nice perk!
